    Brush and Shawnee Deer Planters

Although the planters are very similar and appear in both Brush and Shawnee books, I believe the one on the left is Brush, while the one on the right is Shawnee. The burgundy glaze is a common Shawnee color, but I have never seen a similar glaze on a piece of Brush. I have seen the heavy blue glaze on other Brush pieces, but never on Shawnee.

The wine red color of this dog is a fairly distinctive Shawnee color. Although Morton and Camark also made maroon/dark red animals, the Camark color is much darker, while the Morton red is a little lighter and less saturated.
